Completed Retail projects

WE ARE ONE TEAM TO BUILD YOUR FUTURE.
The expert knowledge and diverse skill set our commercial real estate agents and general contractors possess allow us to offer any and all commercial real estate services, and this includes selling, leasing and building retail spaces. As an established, respected and comprehensive real estate company headquartered in Southwest Ohio, we are a single point of contact designed to provide every client with quality development and construction services that help fuel business growth without sacrificing on timeline or budget. Take a look at some highlights from our completed retail space projects:

Natorp's Nursery Outlet Renovation: Mason, Ohio

Bunnell Hill Construction recently finished construction on the 3,500 SF retail expansion at the Natorp’s Nursery Outlet Garden Center in Mason. In the 3,500 SF expansion, Natorp’s extended their interior retail storefront to allow for additional checkout lanes, 2 new offices, a breakroom, and new restrooms. Their rapidly growing business has expanded their initial needs and we’re happy to support them. With room for more employees and stock, their future is bright (especially with such a great location). Remember, the land and real estate you buy can always be developed further! The best way to expand a business that deals in face-to-face retail, like plant nurseries, is to create the space and the resources you need to be able to “grow” into!

20/20 Eyecare Renovation: Loveland, Ohio

Bunnell Hill Construction performed a completely customized 2,050 SF office renovation for 20/20 Eyecare in Loveland, OH. Previously, the 20/20 Eyecare space was just a retail shop, but they had expanded past that space and needed their facility to be multi-use in order for them to continue to grow. BHC completely retrofitted the space to fit their needs; the renovated space includes several new features: two exam rooms, one work-up room, one contact testing room, and three offices. This project was a perfect example of our build-to-suit commercial real estate services, and we’re sure that 20/20 Eyecare will love their custom, one-of-a-kind space.

Big Mike's Gas N Go: Tipp City & Troy, Ohio

The Schueler Group’s Mike Schueler found two dying AmeriStop gas stations in the Cincinnati-Dayton area in 2008 and saw an opportunity to diversify Schueler Group’s portfolio, including its Henkle Schueler & Associates and Bunnell Hill Construction branches in the process. In Troy, BHC completed the construction/complete retrofit of what has since become an ever-growing regional chain: Big Mike’s Gas N Go. That flagship gas station and convenience store includes a 3,150 SF store and a 1,200 SF drive-thru and took our commercial contractors at BHC just over 4 months to complete. Henkle Schueler plans to acquire new land to develop for several more Big Mike’s Gas N Go’s, which currently has 4 locations. With our help, this chain will grow to become a recognized business for more than just the locals. This endeavor prides itself on being a one-stop-shop for anything you’d need on the go: they feature BP fuel and carry only the highest quality food and drink products. Reinventing and revitalizing these stations has been a labor of love for the Schueler Group and a great example of sustainable small business expansion.

Arrow Wine & Spirits: Mason, Ohio

Bunnell Hill Construction finished building a new 15,000 SF retail storefront for Arrow Wine & Spirits in our Everybody’s Farm development in the spring of ’20.

The Arrow Wine & Spirits project is another great example of how The Schueler Group of Companies is ready to work together on every aspect of a deal. Jeff Eichhorn brokered the land purchase for Arrow Wine, Bunnell Hill Development helped secure financing for the project, and Bunnell Hill Construction built the retail center to suit as the commercial general contractor. A commercial broker and developer in one to develop exactly what you need makes the process easy. Commercial real estate development and purchasing is hard enough as is, making it easier should always be a goal.

The Black Horse Tavern/Golden Lamb: Lebanon, Ohio

Bunnell Hill Construction, the commercial construction division of The Schueler Group of Companies, completed the renovations to the Golden Lamb Hotel & Restaurant’s Black Horse Tavern in the summer of 2019. This was another renovation that is close to our hearts since we are headquartered in Lebanon. Restoring historic buildings in our community in a way that honors the heritage of the business while also allowing for modern amenities and future expansion is an important focus of ours.

The renovation included the addition of a 58-seat outdoor dining veranda and expanded indoor dining area which increased the Black Horse Tavern guest seating from 52 to approximately 150. The project also included a new tavern entrance and vestibule plus a refresh to the lower-level gift shop. This renovation is going to allow Black Horse Tavern to continue its business growth as it fills and utilizes every feature of the space.

Tractor Supply Company: Midwest & Appalachia Retail Locations

One of Bunnell Hill Construction’s most tenured clients is Tractor Supply Company. Each of these commercial construction projects is approximately 19,000 SF. Over the past 20 years, we have worked on hundreds of Tractor Supply retail facilities throughout the Midwest, every one of them on schedule. Whether it was to develop new commercial land or to renovate, our agents and construction team have been there for private businesses every step of the way.

Critical to building for Tractor Supply is the commitment to meet their “Fixture Monday,” which is when contractors must be out of the project so Tractor Supply can move in. Bunnell Hill Construction has never missed this critical date. A specific example of this success is a new facility in Manassas, VA, which we built in mid-winter 2011. Knowing the schedule challenge, our Project Manager had numerous “integration of contractor” meetings to get concurrence on project staging and how to work together to meet “Fixture Monday.” Complicating the mid-winter build was the fact that we had to work with 15 different permitting entities, but we not only met our “Fixture Monday” commitment – we beat it by a week.

Tractor Supply is the leading retailer for rural lifestyles and operates over 1,600 stores in 49 states. We are proud to have been one of their preferred commercial real estate developers for over 20 years, as it’s allowed us to help fuel their business growth and participate at each step of their numerous company expansions.

Quaker Steak & Lube: Colerain Township

BHC completed the construction of the 11,000 SF restaurant space for Quaker Steak and Lube in early 2017. This new facility is a welcome addition to Colerain’s commercial corridor, adding convenience to the nearby residents and signaling to other regional businesses the potential in Colerain Twp.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Mason, Ohio

Bunnell Hill Construction completed the 6,826 SF construction of the Mason Buffalo Wild Wings in early 2017. The City of Mason has worked closely with divisions of The Schueler Group on several commercial construction projects, including other retail spaces at our Everybody’s Farm Development, and various office/medical office spaces. Our collaboration on commercial construction projects shows our commitment to supporting economic growth and community development. By delivering high-quality retail spaces, we contribute to the enhancement of the city’s economy. We strive to support growing businesses. Our expertise and partnership-driven approach lets us develop both private and public projects.

What is a Turnkey Commercial Real Estate Developer?

When we talk about a property developer offering “turnkey” services, this means just what it sounds like. A turnkey developer is one who is prepared and qualified to handle every step in the process of getting you into a new commercial space, whether that means finding a site, arranging financing, negotiating a lease, constructing or renovating a building, or managing the property once you’ve occupied it. The idea is, you explain exactly what you need in the way of a home for your new or expanding business, and the development firm takes care of everything that’s needed to make that happen. All you need to do is to pick up the keys to your new facility and move your people in. To offer true turnkey real estate development, a firm must be able to offer, in-house, the full spectrum of expertise in planning, real estate brokerage, site management and construction contracting.
